This is the home page for the volunteer organization that built and maintains 197 miles of the 218 mile and growing Ozark Highlands Trail and the 15 mile Ozark Highland Trail Lower Buffalo Wilderness Route in northwest Arkansas. All of our outings and meetings are open to the public and there is never any charge (club membership is required for work trips in order for you to be covered by government accident insurance). You can keep up with all of these activities by reading the online newsletter. There is some general information about the Ozark Highlands Trail, along with an overall map, and also a link to the online store where you can purchase guidebooks, maps, and other outdoor publications. There is also information about hike ratings and hiker responsibilities, plus a links page for other outdoor clubs and web sites of interest.

Mile marker 102.3 (Gee Creek)-Trail washed out for approx.50ft. due to fallen tree and large root-ball.
Mile marker 119.4-Trail washed out and dangerous. Large trees across the trail from the 119.7 mile markker to the 122.1 mile marker.
OHT is NOW open from Falling Water Creek to Richland Creek Campground ( mile markers 139.6 to 144.1) The road itself is still closed and the Richland Creek Campground is closed. The Forest Service has NO date set to reopen either the road or campground. A hearty crew of 10 volunteers sawed, lopped, sidehilled and blazed the slide area and beyond to re-open this section. Also the register box at the 144.3 mile maker was repaired and re-stocked with register cards and pencils for hikers. Use special caution in the area of mm 39.0 to 39.6 of the OHT when following an approximately hundred yard temporary route bypassing a recent landslide as dangerous additional instablility may be present.
Troy Leewright will be presenting his many photographs from a 15 day trip to Australia and New Zealand he took last April. This presentation will also include both the North and South island of New Zealand. Specific areas visited include: a hike on the Tongarro Alpine Crossing, whitewater rafting on the Shotover river, black water rafting in Watatomo cave, a tour of the Fraz Joseph glacier, and a cruise on Milford Sound.
